Do you remember Aakash Tablet or even known as Indian Tablet? If Yes, then here is some good news for all users who are eagerly waiting to go hands on with this tablet. Aakash Tablet and UbiSlate 7 (upgrade version of Aakash) is on sale! You heard me right. So called cheapest Indian tablet, Aakash will be available for online booking from today. Kapil Sibil had announced the release of this tablet couple of months back, but it was only for students. According to DataWind, the Canadian company which has taken up the manufacturing responsibility of Aakash tablet has everything set to get it on track for the online booking and pre booking for the users. When it has the word ‘Cheapest’ tagged to it, then I hope would love to hear a real cheap price to go with. Justice has been done, Aakash is coming with a price tag of Rs.2,500 where as UbiSlate 7 comes with a price tag of Rs.2,999 (now that’s really cheap folks!).

Before I get into the specification I would like to refresh your memory in case, if you are wondering what is Aakash Tablet? This tablet is been in lime light since October this year. Previously it was pet named as Sakshat Tablet. Aakash tablet is sponsored by our own Indian government, with visions to connect rural part of India along with the present technology roar in our country.

Now talking about specifications of Aakash and UbiSlate 7 tablets, nothing much can be expected out for the portrait price. Never the less I’ll run you through the specs of both the tabs, keep a check on the table:

Looking at the specification of the tablet, the only concern would be the data storage part. But, again can’t expect to be better when the price offered is low. But, you can expand up to 32GB via microSD. With basic 256 MB RAM you have to expand in order to run the machine at a better pace. The device will be supporting document formats like DOC, DOCX, PPT, PPTX, XLS, XLSX, ODT, ODP and you can also run PDF viewer along with Text editor. With 2,100 mAh battery the device can promise you a backup of 3 hours depending upon your usage.

When it comes to UbiSlate 7, nothing much of differences accept with the Network connectivity which has both WiFi and GPRS. With 3200 mAh battery the device might give you approximately backup of 6 hrs.
